Mine shows as a version 6.4.9.1 (rev 73).ĮDIT: Never mind, I figured it out. The executable there is mplayerc.exe not mplayer.exe that you use, which is why I'm wondering if it is a different version. I've never used the codecs, but I had tried the MPC, but couldn't figure out the streaming thing. I'm wondering if I'm using a different version of MPC? I'm using one similar to what techjunkie mentioned, ie that came with a K-lite codec pack. I was trying to stream the Classic Arts Showcase, so it was just simple SD MPEG2, which should be easy. I tried directing TSREADER to media player classic, and it did bring up the player, and it said that it was playing, and I could hear audio, but there was no video. I can't seem to find that info in Media Player Classic. I only use VLC when I want to determine if H.264 video is 4:2:0 or 4:2:2. I've disabled thumbprints in VLC because of the H.264 problem. Media Player Classic takes a little longer to pop up than VLC, but if works much better for me. Under Playback, VLC, Settings, I direct it to mplayer.exe instead of vlc.exe. How do you play live video with MPC? Do you save to a file, and play the file? I don't see any option to play a stream.ĮDIT: BTW, there must be something different about this H264 as it seems to bomb the TSREADER thumbprints. Then, it switched into a recording, and the issues went away, then came back when they went to live play. strange, almost like with the whole scene moving, it was harder for the MPEG4 to handle it. When the camera wasn't moving, it was hard to notice, even when people and/or golf balls were moving, but when the camera moved slowly, it was quite noticeable. It played well enough here for 5 min or so, that I probably wouldn't have noticed anything wrong if you hadn't mentioned anything, but then, as I started to type, I noticed sort of a quezyness ?sp?, almost imperceptible gitteryness ?sp? every now and then. The Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix on Galaxy 3C and the Memorial Golf feed on SES 2 are not playing well in VLC currently. a collection of semi-functional equipment, backed-up by a pile of questionable items! So far, I've added web browsers, anti-virus and anti-malware software, got EBSPro up and running I happen to be a pack-rat, I save everything, it's a sickness, you should see what my HDD's look like, I've got files from 1993 So, I'd like to try to keep this install as clean as I can for a while a least.Īny suggestions for what files I should install and why? I'd like to hear them all, not just about these players, but anything else you can recommend, or want to warn me of. I have been using VLC, but I just wiped my XP installation and installed Windows 7 as a clean install, so now I'm re-loading all my software, drivers, codecs.
